The Brits are coming, the brits are coming, in a heavily disguised new generation Jaguar XJ. The Jag guys are making a new generation of the big XJ. The engines used are likely to be the standard V6 and V8 and for a more powerful feeling, a supercharged V8. Since hibrids are the new thing everybody wants, the XJ may offer a hibrid version as well.

jaguar is working with Leyland for a new type of hybrid that is supposed to be more efficient in a real world driving experience. Leyland says their system is more efficient in a steady cruise than other hybrid systems.

They say it should have a 35% consumption improvement, and combined with a Jag V6 it should give a 35 mpg+ consumption rate. The car will be about 5 meters long and it;s going to be one of the first cars that will show the world the new Jag direction. Jaguar wants to make a big gap between it’s sport cars and the luxury saloons.
