Controversial Ford radio ad
Look at this guy, you got to love him right? He’s a nice Ford dealer, who coincidentally comes off as a really nice racist. The Ford dealer from Hardeeville, SC started airing a ad about things like Toyota doesn’t have the new car smell, Japanese cars are “rice ready and not road ready”.
I can’t believe that in 2008 we have issues like this, come on people, Japanese cars really are good, American cars are pretty good as well, but it’s up to the customer, don’t go throwing mud, it could get you a lawsuit.
Check out the interview that makes Welch seem really nice:

Just so you know, Obviously, this presents a major PR challenge for the corporate entity, which typically doesn’t get involved in local advertising.
Luckily, we have a strong dealer network, and through our dealer communications manager, one of our regional sales manager called the dealer yesterday and the dealer pulled the ads. We did not ask him or pressure him; we simply let him know that it didn’t reflect well on Ford Motor Company.
