Get ready fot winter in 10 easy steps

If you haven’t noticed, winter is here. Get ready for some really cold months ahead. Snowy roads have always been a problem, you can even get stranded, so need all the essential stuff for a trip outside your house right?

The list kicks off with a must:

1. Check your oil pressure

You should always check your oil pressure especially if you’re going to have a long drive. Having some spare in the trunk can’t hurt you either, it’s winter after all. Make sure you have enough oil and that there are no leaks.

2. Check your antifreeze level

This is a must in the winter season. You have to check your antifreeze level, because if you don’t have enough antifreeze, that means your engine will not get cool enough and that’s not good when you’re on the road.

3.Check you windshield washer fluid and wipers.

You definitely have to check if you have enough washer liquid, you must have a washer liquid that doesn’t freeze. Check the windshield washer if it’s working. Dirty snow from the road can really be dangerous if you washer doesn’t work. Check and see if the wipes are in good condition and working.

4. Check your batery

Check and see if your batery liquid level is k and that it charges normally.

5. Check your tire pressure

It’s a really important step. You have to check your tire pressure because the last thing you need in a winter day is to change your tires. Is really important to check the spare tire as well because you don’t want 2 deflated tires.

6. Check lites, heater and defrosters

Check all the lights and make sure they work, especially the fog lights. You should also check the heater because you surely don’t want to freeze in your own car. The defrosters are really important because you can’t see anything with a frozen windshield, mirrors and other car windows. So make sure those things are working.

7. Check belts and hoses

These are basically the one that keep your engine running. A perforated hose or a broken belt will spell “car breakdown”. Make sure that everything is in good condition and working perfectly.

8.Tune your car

This means to basically check your engine and make sure everything runs smoothly.

9. Check your brakes

It’s hard to stop on ice as it is, every little improvement helps right? Check your brake disks and brake fluid. It will payoff in every situation.

10. Pack something to eat

You never know when you’ll get stranded so you should always have something to eat when you’re going to drive long distances. I’m not talking about trips to the supermarket, remember, only in long trips.

Hope this is useful take care and drive carefully, remember that people are counting on you.
