Jalopnik got it wrong. I like those guys, they really have a nice blog, but they got it wrong this time. They said that this (above) is the first four door version of the upcoming MK VI GTI. Well actually it’s not. Volkswagen introduced at the Paris Motor Show a 2 door version and a 4 door version of this car as well. The 2 door version was a white car, and the four door version was blue, exactly like this one.
Want some proof? Check out the Paris Motor Show photos on my other car blog by clicking HERE.
Don’t worry guys, it happens to the best of us.

I’m back. Had a bunch of exams on my head so I couldn’t write for a while, but like the Superbowl, that’s over. Not much has happened this past few weeks. The financial crisis still persists and the automakers still throw away money like the own them.
I’m back in business, so here we goo….

We all know that the French are pretty weird right? They even like flambe’s, they like it so much that they flambe cars as a habit. They fired up 1130 cars on the new year’s eve alone. It seems that the youth are responsible. The weird part is that the French are afraid to say that those guys burning cars are actually muslims. President Sarkozy said to show no mercy, because they’re really dangerous.
Although those attacks are pretty violent, it seems that 20% of the cars burned were burned by their owners to get the insurance money.Bad bad frenchies.
Interesting traditions right? Well it seems that in 2007 43,000 cars were burned, and in 2008 they burned 36,000 cars until november.

If you haven’t noticed, winter is here. Get ready for some really cold months ahead. Snowy roads have always been a problem, you can even get stranded, so need all the essential stuff for a trip outside your house right?
The list kicks off with a must:
1. Check your oil pressure

You should always check your oil pressure especially if you’re going to have a long drive. Having some spare in the trunk can’t hurt you either, it’s winter after all. Make sure you have enough oil and that there are no leaks.

Look at this guy, you got to love him right? He’s a nice Ford dealer, who coincidentally comes off as a really nice racist. The Ford dealer from Hardeeville, SC started airing a ad about things like Toyota doesn’t have the new car smell, Japanese cars are “rice ready and not road ready”.
I can’t believe that in 2008 we have issues like this, come on people, Japanese cars really are good, American cars are pretty good as well, but it’s up to the customer, don’t go throwing mud, it could get you a lawsuit.
Check out the interview that makes Welch seem really nice:

I don’t think BMW understands the word economical recession, because they sold 50% more M3’s than last year. This huge increase in sells is a result of the new 2008 M3. The new M3 has 3 body styles: coupe, 4 door and cabriolet. It really seems that european cars and especially BMW’s M division has a weird effect on people.
Ludwig Willisch, President of BMW M GmbH said: “The fact that our dealers were able to supply significantly more vehicles than the average of the last nine months even in such dramatic times for the world economy demonstrates the fascination and attraction which BMW M automobiles exercise on our customers”.
PS I bet Top Gear’s review helped a bit, but don’t tell BMW that.

A car is all about the engines right? We don’t really care about all the fancy gizmos. The first question a guy asks is how many horses it has under the hood right? Ward’s Auto has launched it’s annual list of best top 10 engines. It looks like the Germans lead: 2 BMW engines, 1 Audi engine and 1 Volkswagen engine.
These engines were picked because they have the best quality-price-efficiency ratio. Check out the top 10 engines below:
