The Detroit Auto Show has started, Audi had a great start on the first day with the 2 cars launched, the Audi A7 and the all new Audi R8 V10. First we have to talk about the A7, or how they like to call it, the Sportback Concept. This is Audi’s answer to all those four door coupes out there. Some people tend to compare it with the Porsche Panamera, but that’s just silly, this Audi looks good while the Panamera is just a ugly 911 look alike.

This new Audi A7 is the best example on how the future Audi models will look like. Audi wants to implement sharp lines and angles in their design and a all new grille. The name Sportback comes from the fastback roof, a panoramic sport like roof. Another standard feature are the LED lights, that were introduced through the Audi A5.

The Audi A7 has a 3.0 TDI V6 that gives out 225 hp. The gearbox used for this model will be a 7 speed S tronic double clutch transmission. To give a better consumption rate, the car has a automatic start/stop system.
